Mission: Impossible star Rebecca Ferguson has landed her next lead movie role, securing a part in the new project from Deadpool director Tim Miller.
As reported by Deadline, Ferguson will play the lead in revenge-thriller Best Served Cold, an adaptation of Joe Abercrombie’s best-selling novel.
The novel told the story of “legendary mercenary Monza Murcatto (Ferguson), the betrayal that ostracises her, and her ensuing quest for revenge that will forever change a nation.” Abercrombie will adapt his own source material by penning the script, whilst the rest of the cast is yet to be announced.

Ferguson will reprise her role as Ilsa Faust in the seventh instalment of the Mission: Impossible franchise, Dead Reckoning Part One. The two-parter, which is due to conclude next year, is rumoured to be Tom Cruise’s final chapter as Ethan Hunt, but director Christopher McQuarrie teased that there could be more stories for the IMF agent.
“Look, we're still shooting [Dead Reckoning Part Two] and there's any number of ways that that story could play out,” he said. “When you're watching Mission: Impossible, and watching the team go through these adventures, you're having some sense of what it's like to make a Mission: Impossible movie.
“There's always a plan, the plan always changes, everything goes completely awry, and hopefully everything always turns out alright in the end,” he added. “But you never really fully understand, or trust where it is you're going, until you get there.”

Cruise and Ferguson join Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby and Henry Czerny as returning stars from the series, with new cast members including Esai Morales, Shea Whigham and Pom Klementieff.
The latter, who also appears in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, recently teased her part as the secondary antagonist in the action film, revealing that she head-butts Cruise: “Yeah, [possibly]. But actually, head-butting is hard for the person who fakes getting hit,” she said.
Best Served Cold currently has no release date. Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is released in UK cinemas on July 11 and in US cinemas on July 12.
