Milan finally wrap up signing of Tottenham defender

Following a transfer saga that dragged on for much of the summer, Milan have now completed the signing of Emerson Royal from Tottenham.

The right-back had been on the Rossoneri’s wish list following the conclusion of last season and their need to add in that area was heightened by the long-term injury suffered by Alessandro Florenzi.

This week, a €15m deal was finally agreed between the clubs that sees Royal move to San Siro, where he has penned a deal until 2028.

The 25-year-old had other offers on the table from across the continent but has opted to join Paulo Fonseca’s new-look Milan project.

He arrived at Spurs from Barcelona in the summer of 2021 and leaves after making just over 100 appearances in all competitions for the Lilywhites.
