In Dream Big, Live Small, we visit tiny home-dwellers, discovering why they choose to live this way, how they manage it and the possibilities to do things like travel, learn and grow that have resulted from downsizing so significantly. In the long run, living small is really about living big.

When big life moments happen, sometimes people want to live tiny. But deciding to live in a tiny home requires a bit of downsizing, which is exactly what Bruce Faris did to live out his tiny home dreams.

In this episode of Dream Big, Live Small, you’ll get to see inside Faris’ tiny home that he decided to build once he turned 50 and realized he needed to downsize. He ended up selling his farm and building his quaint tiny home in Bruce, Ohio.

Faris’ 325-square-foot home, nicknamed “Cherry Hill” because of its location, boasts a country porch, a traditional red roof and an open floor plan. Anyone who’s ever wanted to live tiny will envy this adorable tiny home.

While it’s only 325 square feet with an extra 100 square feet in loft space, Faris said his tiny house feels big because of its open floor plan and tall ceiling.

And because storage is so important in a tiny home, even his desk has a dual purpose — it doubles as an area for his dog Rocky to sleep in his kennel. You’ll be surprised to see that the stairs also double as hidden storage!

In the kitchen, Faris didn’t compromise on countertop space either. He has plenty of room for food prep and a cooking area on two portable burners.
