Micky van de Ven addresses Tottenham title talk after dramatic win over Liverpool
Micky van de Ven insists it is too early to consider Tottenham as potential Premier League title challengers.
Spurs have enjoyed a rapid-fire rebuild under new manager Ange Postecoglou and Saturday’s dramatic win over Liverpool maintained their unbeaten League record this season.
Despite the departure of talisman Harry Kane, Postecoglou’s side have impressed in the biggest games thus far, beating Manchester United and Liverpool while fighting back to claim a draw away at Arsenal.
While it remains an early stage of the campaign, Spurs sit only a point behind leaders Manchester City and they do not have the distraction of European football.
Their final game before the October international break is a favourable-looking trip to newly-promoted Luton but summer signing Van de Ven is refusing to get carried away.
"It’s early to say," the Netherlands international said. "But hopefully we can keep pushing now and we are going to see where it’s going to end.
"It’s early to say if we are title candidates this year but we will keep pushing, keep pushing and we’re going to see.
"We want the best this season so we’re going to see where it will end.
"We are not afraid of any team. We will keep playing our way and hopefully we can improve even more from how we are playing now and hopefully we can keep pushing."
