Jim Harbaugh’s ability to scream at officials apparently translates to acting.

The Michigan coach stars in a new commercial for Planters nuts in a campaign called “Shout for Nuts.” How loud will Harbaugh shout for nuts? Quite loudly, it turns out.

In a release, Harbaugh expressed his longstanding nut fandom.

“I’ve been a fan of Planters nuts for years so I was very excited when I heard that all I have to do is shout for nuts – something I’m already very good at,” he said. “The louder I shout, the more nuts I get. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.”

The man seriously loves nuts. From Sporting News:

“I’ve always been a big fan of peanuts,” Harbaugh told SN. “Me, my dad, Jack Harbaugh, always loved Planters peanuts. I like it on peanut butter. I like it everywhere. Peanuts here! Get your peanuts here! At the ballpark, at any time, any time you have a craving it’s good to have a peanut nearby. … Unless you have a peanut allergy. Then I wouldn’t recommend it.”

“It was shouting into a machine and you had to get the decibel level high enough to get the can of peanuts to come out.” Harbaugh said. “I was highly motivated. I like to eat peanuts as I said. I told my dad I was coming out here to do this, and he was expecting a year-long supply of peanuts, so I had to do good.”

This isn’t Harbaugh’s first experience shooting a commercial. He also shot a series of commercials for Fairlife milk last year. You already knew about his deep affection for milk, so he was a natural choice.

Harbaugh is entering his third season as the head coach of his alma mater. In his first two seasons, he has a 20-6 record but has finished third in the Big Ten East both years. The Wolverines begin spring practice on Friday.
