Michael Cohen says he wanted to 'smack' Trump for the comments he made about his daughter

On Monday’s episode of The View, Michael Cohen, President Trump’s former personal lawyer and fixer, went after his old boss.

Cohen’s new book Disloyal: A Memoir, has all kinds of damning allegations about the president, but one of the most lurid is a comment Trump reportedly made about Cohen’s daughter.

Cohen writes that, in 2012, Trump saw his then-15-year-old daughter Samantha and called her a “piece of ass,” not knowing who she was. When Cohen informed him that it was his daughter, Trump simply asked, “When did she get so hot?”

Asked by View co-host Joy Behar what he’d say to Trump now, Cohen didn’t pull any punches.

“I wouldn’t have liked to have said it, I would have liked to smack him across the side of the head,” Cohen said.

He went on to explain why he let such a lewd comment slide at the time.

“I knew it was wrong. Under any other circumstances I never would have allowed anybody to speak about her that way,” he said. “But I was part of the cult, I was a big part of the cult.”

Cohen explained how the occasional positive feedback from Trump became addicting.

“When he gives you this warmth, it’s no different from a cult leader,” He said. “You just want it and you’re willing to sacrifice your own moral compass.”

Vanity Fair recently published an interview with Cohen’s daughter. Samantha, now 24, says her father had Stockholm Syndrome and described his relationship with Trump as a “twisted umbilical cord.”

In 2018, Cohen pleaded guilty to eight counts of campaign finance violations, tax fraud and bank fraud. He was sentenced to three years in federal prison.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany disputes Cohen’s claims in his memoir, calling him a “disgraced felon” who “has lost all credibility.”
