Miami Hurricanes’ first commitment for Class of 2027 is a local up-and-coming talent
The Miami Hurricanes have their first commitment for the Class of 2027 — and he’s a top local talent.
Ah’Mari Stevens, who spent his first two seasons of high school at Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas before transferring to Plantation American Heritage, made his verbal pledge on Monday.
“Staying at the crib,” Stevens wrote on his personal X (formerly Twitter) account.
Stevens, listed at 6-0 and 165 pounds, caught a team-high eight touchdowns and was second with 44 catches and 550 receiving yards last season for a St. Thomas Aquinas team that won its FHSAA-record sixth consecutive state title. He also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns.
As a freshman in 2023, Stevens caught 23 passes for 267 yards and a touchdown for St. Thomas Aquinas.
Stevens holds offers from 14 schools, including Penn State, Ole Miss, Auburn and FSU.
