Yahoo Sports Miami coach Manny Diaz tests positive for COVID-19
Miami coach Manny Diaz is one of the members of the Hurricane football program with COVID-19.
Diaz revealed he had tested positive on Friday morning. Miami’s game vs. Georgia Tech on Saturday was postponed on Monday because of COVID-19 positives and quarantines at the school.
I have tested positive for COVID-19. I am currently in isolation and feeling good overall. I will continue to work with our team virtually as we prepare for our next game at Wake Forest.

The ACC shuffled schedules around Monday when it postponed Saturday’s Miami game. The Hurricanes are also unable to play on Nov. 28 against Wake Forest. That game has been moved to Dec. 5.
Miami was without 13 players in its 25-24 win over Virginia Tech on Nov. 14.
“We are disappointed that we will not be able to play the next two weeks as scheduled but this decision was made in the best interests of the health and safety of all teams,” Miami athletic director Blake James said on Monday. “The health and safety of our student-athletes is always our top priority and we will continue to follow the conference’s protocols in order to safely and responsibly return to play.”
College football coaches who have tested positive
Diaz joins the growing ranks of college football coaches who have revealed they tested positive for COVID-19 during the season. Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst had COVID-19 during his team’s outbreak, Florida coach Dan Mullen tested positive for COVID-19, Arkansas coach Sam Pittman missed his team’s game against Florida on Nov. 14 and others have said they contracted the coronavirus as well. Florida State coach Mike Norvell was the first coach to miss a game after testing positive for the virus.
Miami’s game on Saturday is one of 16 games — as of early Friday morning — either postponed or canceled this week.
