Jack Wilshere's vision is a gift "mere mortals can only dream of", according to former Arsenal player Martin Keown.

The midfielder made his third start of the season on Thursday, putting in another standout performance as the Gunners edged past Red Star Belgrade to maintain this 100 per cent start in the Europa League.

Wilshere is further strengthening his claim for a return to Premier League action, having started just Premier League game for the Gunners in two years due to injury and a loan spell with Bournemouth.

Keown was impressed with Wilshere once again, having completed his third 90 minutes of the season, and revealed club staff are impressed with the 25-year-old's application in training.

"It's the brilliance of Wilshere, punching a hole in midfield, seeing what mere mortals can only dream of,' he told BT Sport.

He added: "It's a platform for Wilshere to prove fitness and ability. The saying behind scenes is that Jack is playing better than ever in training."

Arsenal are back in Premier League action on Sunday, taking a trip to Goodison Park to face struggling Everton.
