McMenamin sets up Northern Ireland win over Denmark

St Mirren midfielder Conor McMenamin came off the bench to set up what proved to be Northern Ireland's decisive second goal in their 2-0 win over Euro 2024 qualifying Group H leaders Denmark.

Three minutes after coming on for his 11th cap in Belfast, McMenimin's low cross was turned home by Dion Charles, who had also set up Isaac Price's opener on the hour mark, with nine minutes remaining.

However, fellow St Mirren midfielder Caolan Boyd-Munce is still waiting for his debut after being an unused substitute along with Motherwell defender Brodie Spencer and Rangers midfielder Ross McCausland.

Denmark had already qualified for the finals and, despite ending with a defeat, they finish top of the group on goal difference ahead of Slovenia, who beat Khazakhstan 2-1, while Michael O'Neill's hosts remain fifth of the six teams despite ending a disappointing campaign on a high.
