Married at First Sight star Natasha Spencer has opened up about her being sober as she celebrates two years since her last alcoholic drink.

Natasha appeared on season seven of Married at First Sight in 2018 and took to Instagram to explain to fans about her sobriety journey.

She wrote: "2 years ago today I had my last alcoholic drink. But it was never about the one drink for me. It was wasting days partying, missing commitments and putting myself in dangerous situations."

"I want to write this in hopes it will let the right person know, you’re never in too deep and you’re never too far gone to start making a change. It took me 6 months of trying before I managed to be completely sober."

She continued: "I had replaced real friends with party friends, and dated the absolute worst people because that's was what I thought I deserved. Sobriety is an act of self love and I never thought I would be here, but I thank the universe that I am."

She went on to explain that she now has a healthy marriage — to Gary Green — and that she feels much more "stable" in terms of her emotions. She stated that she is surrounded by "beautiful" people and feels like, for the first time in her life, she has a "healthy connection with herself."

"I don’t need alcohol or drugs to disassociate. I love being present in every moment of this life I’ve created with @green_gary80," she wrote.

"GG no words will ever be enough to tell you how grateful I am that you’ve been by my side. Thank you for always coming to my rescue, thank you for seeing me, knowing I deserved better and helping me to know the same."

Natasha isn't the only Married at First Sight star to open up about personal issues. Recently, Selina Chhaur opened up about her own mental health after "homelessness" fears. Amy Christophers also talked about her own struggles recently, after dealing with body-shaming.
