Mariners reinstate 1B Evan White from bereavement list

The Seattle Mariners reinstated their 2020 Gold Glove first baseman, Evan White, from the bereavement list on Tuesday.

The team also recalled LHP Aaron Fletcher and optioned RHPs Wyatt Mills and Domingo Tapia to the team's alternate training site.

White, a Mariners first-round pick in 2017 (17th overall) and Fletcher are available for Tuesday's home game against the Baltimore Orioles.

White, 25, is hitting .155 through 22 games this season with a home run and six RBIs.

He was baseball's first rookie first baseman to win a Gold Glove Award since the award was created in 1957.

In 76 big-league games, White is batting .170 with 25 runs, nine doubles, nine home runs and 32 RBIs.

Fletcher, 25, is rated the No. 18 prospect in the Mariners organization, according to MLB Pipeline.

Mills, 26, made his MLB debut May 1 and posted a 6.75 ERA in two games. He gave up two runs on two hits, including a homer, and a walk in 2 2/3 innings.

Tapia, 29, pitched in two games with Seattle this season, allowing no runs in two innings.
