MLB trade rumors: Reds interested in Blue Jays starter Marcus Stroman

The Reds are searching far and wide for trades at the winter meetings.

Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman had some strong words about his team following its loss to the Red Sox on Sunday.

After the game, Stroman was asked about his time with the Blue Jays’ short-season minor league team in Vancouver during the 2012 season and apparently he did not appreciate the question.

“We just lost to the Boston Red Sox,” Stroman said (via The Athletic). “I don’t think that’s relevant at all right now.”

He went on to say the Blue Jays “were f—ing terrible."

Not long after making those comments, Stroman addressed the incident on Twitter.

“I’m not playing well. Neither are we as a team,” Stroman’s post read, in part. “After the camera shut off, I said word for word….’I’m terrible right now. We’re terrible right now. It’s frustrating and that question isn’t relevant at all.’”

Stroman, who now holds a 5.86 ERA this season, allowed three earned runs and five hits in five innings on the mound. Boston went on to win the game 5-2.

The Blue Jays enter the All-Star break in fourth place of the American League East standings at 43-52. Stroman has a 2-7 record in 2018.
