Maple Leafs deal defenseman Fraser to Oilers

TORONTO (AP) -- The Toronto Maple Leafs traded defenseman Mark Fraser to the Edmonton Oilers for forwards Cameron Abney and the rights to restricted free agent Teemu Hartikainen on Friday.

Fraser appeared in 19 games for Toronto this season and hadn't dressed for the past 11. Fraser played in 45 games last season, with eight assists and 85 penalty minutes.

Abney was Edmonton's third-round selection, No. 82 overall, in the 2009 draft. He is with the Bakersfield Condors of the East Coast Hockey League.

Hartikainen was Edmonton's sixth-round selection, No. 163 overall, in the 2008 draft. He's playing for Ufa Salavat Yulayev of Russia's Kontinental Hockey League, with 13 goals and 14 assists in 43 KHL games this season.
