Manchester United have labelled reports that Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho have had a big bust-up as ‘complete nonsense’

They have also reiterated that the pair have a ‘good’ relationship, despite reports this morning suggesting it had deteriorated further and that Pogba was not willing to chat formally with his boss.

The same reports said that Mourinho had told Pogba not to speak to the media and that he should hand in a transfer request if he was desperate to leave the club.

According to Sky Sports, United have completely dismissed these stories.

It has become apparent over the past six months that the duo do not see eye-to-eye with each other, with Mourinho dropping Pogba for big Champions League games and stories coming out that the Frenchman was unhappy at Old Trafford.

Although Mourinho named Pogba captain for United’s opening day victory over Leicester City and called him a ‘monster’ for playing, at the same time the World Cup winner was opening another can of worms.

“If you’re not happy, you cannot give your best,” Pogba told reporters. “There are things that I cannot say otherwise I will get fined.”

Barcelona are interested in the 26-year-old, but despite the European transfer window not shutting until August 31, Pogba is expected to remain a United player.
