What a strange season this has been for Manchester United.

Ten goals in 10 games by last weekend, now 11 in three and three successive victories for the first time since October.

In a campaign scarred by inconsistency, United now have the chance to reduce the gap on fourth placed Aston Villa to five points if they can secure a Premier League double against Unai Emery's men next weekend.

Some of the predictions Erik ten Hag has made in explaining his side's inconsistencies have proved to be true, namely that results will improve when injured players return.

But can they be trusted?

Back-to-back away games at Villa and Luton may tell us.
