Man Utd teenage sensation set to sign five-year deal today
Chido Obi-Martin will sign his first professional contract at Manchester United today as he is turning 17, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The teenage sensation, who joined the Red Devils from Arsenal last summer, will reportedly sign a five-year deal with the club.
Man United went all out to land Obi-Martin after he bagged 32 goals in 20 under-18 Premier League games last term.
He also notched ten goals for Arsenal under-16s in a 14-3 win over their Liverpool counterparts a year ago.
The teenager has continued his impressive form for the Red Devils youth team since his arrival, scoring four goals in his first four matches in the under-18 Premier League.
Obi-Martin opened his account with a hat-trick against Nottingham Forest under-18s, following it up with an assist against Leeds United and was on the scoresheet in the 3-0 victory over Everton.
Man United manager Ruben Amorim has immediately proven that he will not hesitate to give youngsters a chance to prove themselves.
He included 16-year-old defender Godwill Kukonki as part of the travelling party to the league game against Ipswich Town last Sunday.
Another 16-year-old, Amir Ibragimov, is reportedly on the radar of Man United first-team coaches following his performance against Altrincham.
The Portuguese handed official first-team debuts to 27 players from the Sporting CP academy during his time as their manager,
It will not surprise many people if Obi-Martin, Kukonki and Ibragimov make their debuts before the end of the season.
