Man plays lottery for first and only time — and wins big in SC. ‘Beginner’s luck’
A man bought his first ever lottery scratch ticket in South Carolina and had a stroke of “beginner’s luck,” according to the South Carolina Education Lottery.
The man, who is from Pee Dee, won $375,000 off a scratch ticket, according to a June 8 news release from the lottery agency. He bought the $10 scratch-off ticket at a convenience store in Florence.
“It was wonderful,” he told lottery officials.
The winner has yet to spend any of his prize, though, according to the release.
“I haven’t bought a ticket since,” he said, according to the release.
Pee Dee is about 100 miles northeast of Columbia.
