A Man and His Bud: Peyton Manning Not Paid to Mention Budweiser After Super Bowl Win

Lawsuit Alleging 'Hostile Sexual Environment' at University of Tennessee Cites Peyton Manning Incident

While that smooch from Papa John may have had sponsorship roots, Peyton Manning's post-Super Bowl win Budweiser nod was totally unplanned.

After nabbing his second Super Bowl ring, Manning told CBS' Tracy Wolfson that he planned to "drink a lot of Budweiser tonight, Tracy, I promise you that."

The name drop wasn't a paid promotion for the 39-year-old Denver Broncos quarterback, according to Budweiser.

"We didn't know the shout out was coming either, but we're glad it did," the beverage company tweeted after Manning's interview.

According to Apex MG Analytics, the simple unplanned sentence netted some major dough for Anheuser-Busch: "That gave beer brand $1.6MM+ brand recognition value."
