Liz Carmouche vs. Lauren Murphy Added to UFC Fight Night 63 Card
A female bantamweight bout between Liz Carmouche and Lauren Murphy has been added the to quickly expanding UFC Fight Night 63 fight card set for April 4 in Fairfax, Va. UFC officials announced the bout on Tuesday.
Carmouche (9-5) is a former Marine that opened her UFC tenure by facing women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey in the first ever women’s bout in the Octagon.

She lost to Rousey, and has struggled to find her footing ever since. Carmouche’s UFC record currently stands at 1-3, and she enters the fight with Murphy having lost back-to-back bouts to Alexis Davis and Miesha Tate.
Murphy (8-1) was undefeated before coming to the UFC, having held the Invicta FC bantamweight belt prior to making the move to the Octagon.
She faced a stiff test in her first UFC bout, dropping a split decision to Olympic silver medalist Sara McMann. She’ll look to the fight with Carmouche to try and get her UFC feet under her.
UFC Fight Night 63 is headlined by a featherweight battle between top contenders Chad Mendes and Ricardo Lamas. It will air on FOX Sports 1 in the United States, with a special main card start time of 1 p.m. ET.
