Liverpool are welcome back Sadio Mane at Burnley following his Africa Cup of Nations success.

Having watched Manchester City dispatch Norwich with ease yesterday, Jurgen Klopp knows he has to keep momentum high to stand any realistic chance of catching Pep Guardiola.

Mane missed the midweek win over Leicester after being given permission to return to Senegal to celebrate their AFCON triumph but he has now returned to Liverpool.

“Sadio will come [in] this morning for training and I assume he will be in full training and then we make a decision after that on how he feels and all that stuff,” said Klopp on Friday. “He will probably still be emotionally high-flying, but physically we have to see how intense the last few days were for him.”

Mohamed Salah, whose Egypt side were beaten by Senegal in the final, returned to the club earlier in the week and came off the bench against Leicester, making a return to the the starting lineup.

Diogo Jota scored twice against the Foxes but does not keep his place, meaning Roberto Firmino, Mane and Salah start up front.

Jordan Henderson is fit to return in midfield after missing the Leicester game with a minor back problem,.
