Liverpool transfer news latest: Sepp van den Berg, Nicolas Pepe, Simon Mignolet, Alex McCarthy and more

Dutch prodigy Sepp van den Berg is set to undergo a medical today ahead of his proposed £1.79m move to Liverpool, according to The Telegraph.

The PEC Zwolle defender played 16 Eredivisie games last season and Liverpool have fought off competition for the teenager’s signature.

Both Bayern Munich and Ajax were said to be keen but the Reds have won the race.

Liverpool have also denied that the club are in talks with Lille over a €80m move for Ivory Coast star Nicolas Pepe after a France-based journalist claimed that the clubs were in ‘very concrete discussions’ regarding a transfer.

According to Spanish radio station Cadena SER, the Reds turned down the opportunity to sign Marcos Llorente.

The 24-year-old made the move across the Spanish capital, leaving Real Madrid to link up with Diego Simeone’s Atletico.

The midfielder’s agent revealed that Liverpool passed up on the chance to sign Llorente as he wasn’t considered a priority.

In terms of outgoings, the Evening Standard has reported that second choice goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is wanted by Crystal Palace, with the south London club will to part with £8m for the Belgian’s services.

Mignolet would provide competition to Vicente Guaita and Wayne Hennessey for the number one spot.

Liverpool could turn their attention to Southampton’s Alex McCarthy and try and bring him back to Anfield if Mignolet leaves.

Rafa Camacho is also reportedly nearing the exit door, with A Bola stating that Sporting Lisbon are close to agreeing a fee for the 19-year-old winger.

Finally, recently released full-back Alberto Moreno has agreed to join La Liga outfit Villarreal, according to Spanish publication Marca.
