Polls close at 7 p.m. in the 2023 Mississippi runoff election.
On the Coast, voters in Hancock, Harrison and Jackson counties will decide winners in five races. Two of those are uncontested, and three of them — all in Hancock County — will head to the general election in November.

Tiffany Lee Cowman defeats Kodie Koenenn
School teacher Tiffany Lee Cowman has defeated former Diamondhead City Councilman and Hancock County Supervisor Kodie Koenenn for the Republican nomination for chancery clerk in Hancock County.
Cowman received 4,035 votes to Koenenn’s 3,452.
Cowman will face Democrat Henry Ward in the general election.
Hancock Supervisor results
Donald Wayne Graham defeated “Packer” Ladner in the District 1 Supervisor’s race for the Republican nomination. Graham will face Democrat Cody Shiyou in November.
Incumbent Greg Shaw won another term as Supervisor of Hancock County District 2, defeating Byron Ladner with 787 votes to 665., reports Anita Lee at 8:30 p.m. Shaw will face Libertarian Timothy P. Stinson Jr. in November.
District 115 House winner
Zachary Grady wins the race for House District 115 with 61.74% of the vote. Grady had 718 votes to Felix Gines with 443. Martha Sanchez reports at 8:02 p.m. He has no opposition in November and will be sworn into the office in January.
Just 8.85% of eligible voters in Harrison County turned out to cast a vote in the election.
Race decided in Jackson County
With all eight precincts reporting, incumbent Ennit Morris wins the race for Democrat Supervisor District 2.
Morris won another term with 65% of the votes, winning with 856 votes to Fornett’s 454, reports Allen Frazier at 8:10 p.m.
Numbers come quickly
8 p.m. — With six of 26 precincts reporting in Hancock County, school teacher Tiffany Cowman leads Hancock County Supervisor Kodie Koenenn in the chancery clerk’s race, Cowman has 720 votes to 686 for Koenenn.
In Harrison County, all six precincts are in. Waiting on the results.
7:45 p.m. — The first box in at Hancock County shows it could be a tight contest in the chancery clerk race, with Kodie Koenenn getting 192 votes to Tiffany Lee Cowman’s 184. With four precincts called in Hancock County, it’s still neck and neck between Cowman and Koenenn.
With 6 of 8 precincts reporting in Jackson County, incumbent Ennit Morris takes the lead with 489 votes to Felix “FeFe” Fornett’s 224 in the District 2 supervisor race.
Voter turnout low across the Coast
Several candidates report low voter turnout from Diamondhead to D’Iberville and beyond on Tuesday.
Afternoon thunderstorms drenched the Coast and could have prevented after-work voting as well.
