How the Dallas Cowboys hammered the Indianapolis Colts 54-19 on Sunday Night Football

The Cowboys scored a team-record 33 fourth-quarter points to turn a 21-19 lead into a 54-19 win.
The Cowboys improved to 9-3 overall, two games behind the division-leading Philadelphia Eagles (11-1). The Indianapolis Colts fell to 4-8-1.

Fourth quarter notes
IND 14th possession starts at IND 32: Colts do nothing on final drive.
DAL 13th possession starts at IND 29: Cooper Rush in at quarterback; Malik Davis in at running back. Malik Davis gets his first career touchdown, a 23-yard touchdown run with 2:25 left. Maher’s extra point gives Cowboys a 54-19 lead.
IND 13th possession starts at DAL 23: And another Colts turnover. Sam Williams recovers a Matt Ryan fumble at the IND 29 with 3:59 left.
(Cowboys have now scored 26 points in the fourth quarter, a franchise record)
DAL 12th possession starts at DAL 28: Cowboys take advantage of the turnover, scoring again. With fans chanting :Zeke, Zeke, Zeke, Ezekiel Elliott rushes for a 4-yard touchdown. Maher adds extra point. Cowboys lead 47-19 with 6:06 left.
IND 12th possession starts at IND 25: Third Colts possession in a row that the Cowboys intercept Matt Ryan. Daron Bland gets his second interception in as many possessions at DAL 28 with 9:04 left.
DAL 11th possession starts at DAL 47: And, Cowboys, quickly get into the end zone again. This time, Tony Pollard runs 30 yards for a touchdown. Maher’s extra point is blocked, but Cowboys lead 40-19 with 9:46 left.
IND 11th possession starts at IND 23: Second straight Colts drive ends with a Cowboy interception. This time, Daron Brand picks off Matt Ryan at DAL 47 with 11:01 left.
IND 10th possession starts at IND 27: On first play, the Cowboys’ Malik Hooker picks up a Colts fumble for 38 yards and a touchdown. Two-point pass play (CeeDee Lamba attempted pass fails). Cowboys lead 34-19 with 13:34 left. That’s 15 points in 18 seconds.

DAL 10th possession continues from IND 20: Two plays in to the fourth quarter, Cowboys’ Michael Gallup gets his second touchdown of the game, a 3-yard pass from Dak Prescott. With extra point, Cowboys lead 28-19 with 13:52 remaining.

DAL 10th possession starts at DAL 25: Cowboys drive to IND 20 as the quarter expires.
IND 9th possession starts at IND 11: Colts put together their best drive of the game, 15 plays, 80 yards, finishing with a Matt Ryan 15-yard touchdown pass to Alec Pierce. The two-point conversion pass failed. Cowboys lead 21-19 with 3:43 left in the quarter.

DAL 6h possession starts at DAL 25: Three-and-out and Cowboys punt ball to the Colts with 1:19 left. Ball at IND 27.
IND 5th possession starts at DAL 19: Colts waste a big opportunity, settle for a 44-yard field goal that knuckles over the crossbar. Cowboys lead 14-13 with 1:47 left in the half.
DAL 5th possession: Very few possessions in the game so far. Starting at DAL 12, Cowboys’’ Dak Prescott is intercepted by Stefan Gilmore at DAL 49 and returned to the IND 19 with 2:44 remaining.
IND 4th possession: Starts at IND 23. Colts pick up a couple of first downs, however, a sack stops the drive. Colts punt to DAL 12. 4:37 left in the half.
