Lions sign Sherman Carter, Naaman Roosevelt, host Bradley Roby
The Detroit Lions signed center Sherman Carter and wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt following a minicamp tryout.
Carter has a previous stint with the San Francisco 49ers.
Roosevelt caught 25 passes for the Buffalo Bills in two seasons.
He was with the Cleveland Browns last year.
Meanwhile, former Ohio State cornerback Bradley Roby visited the Lions.
Roby was recently charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, but blew a 0.008 on a Breathalyzer, which is 10 times below the legal limit in Ohio.
Roby complained on Twitter about the scrutiny he's now under this close to the draft even though legally he's likely facing a mild punishment, if any.
Also visiting the Lions: Eastern Illinois wide receiver Erik Lora.
Lora caught 136 passes for 1,664 yards as a junior. Last season, he caught 123 passes for 1,544 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Kent State running back Dri Archer visited the Lions, too.
Archer ran a 4.26 at the NFL scouting combine and bench pressed 225 pounds 20 times and had a 38-inch vertical leap.
Two seasons ago, Archer had 1,990 yards from scrimmage as he had1,429 rushing yards.
