Lightning's Steven Stamkos joins 400-goal club
Steven Stamkos continues to make his mark on the record books more than a decade into his career.
The Lightning captain, who has been the face of the organization since being drafted first overall in 2008, scored the 400th goal of his career during Saturday’s loss to the Winnipeg Jets.
One of the most potent goal scorers of his generation, Stamkos is in rare territory.

For Lighting fans, Stamkos holds the distinction of being the only player in franchise history to score all 400 goals with Tampa Bay.
Stamkos is coming off a career year, scoring 45 goals and 98 points during the 2018-19 season where the Lightning cruised to the NHL’s best record, before being upset during the first round in historic fashion by the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The 29-year-old cracked the 60-goal mark in 2011-12 en route to the second Rocket Richard trophy of his career. Although it’s unlikely Stamkos will post 60 again, he remains one of the most potent goal scorers in the NHL and we wouldn’t be surprised if he eventually joins the elite 500 goal club.
