Tim Tebow is adding another responsibility to the docket as the host of “Million Dollar Mile,” a CBS competition series produced by LeBron James and SpringHill Entertainment.

Tebow will host the show with commentators Matt “Money” Smith, the radio voice of the San Diego Chargers, and Maria Taylor, an ESPN host.

‘Million Dollar Mile’ gives everyday athletes chance at cash

CBS announced the 10-episode competition series by the Los Angeles Lakers superstar in August and has started production, though there is no premiere date yet.

“Million Dollar Mile” gives everyday athletes a chance to win $1 million if they run the mile-long “most challenging course ever designed,” according to CBS. A group of elite athletes will do what they can to stop the contestants from winning the money, “at all costs,” according to the report. Streets in a major city will be shut down for filming.

The show is from Fly on the Wall Entertainment’s Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan, executive producers of “Big Brother.” James and partner Maverick Carter will executive producer for SpringHill, which also has Space Jam 2 in the works and is in talks for a “Friday the 13th” reboot.

Tebow adds competition show host to resume

Tebow, a former Heisman Trophy winner at Florida and former NFL quarterback, has a busy schedule but it doesn’t seem to be getting in the way.

“Watching good people compete at their highest ability is always inspirational to me,” Tebow said in a statement. “‘Million Dollar Mile’ is a show that does just that — it motivates, thrills and is aspirational. I’m excited to be hosting this show.”

Tebow, 31, is a college football analyst and aspiring major league baseball player in the New York Mets organization. Tebow will likely start the season with the Syracuse Mets, the team’s Triple A affiliate, though new general manager Brodie Van Wagenen didn’t rule out the possibility of a spot on the opening day roster.

Spring training begins in February in Florida.
