Late in the second period of Thursday’s game between Toronto and New York, Roman Polak caught Mats Zuccarello with a questionable hit that sent the Rangers forward hobbling to the bench.

Polak wasn’t penalized on the play and returned to his spot at the end of the Leafs bench, right next to TSN analyst Ray Ferraro.

This is where things get awkward. Ferraro begins to go in on the play, claiming the Leafs defenceman caught Zuccarello with a knee. Polak doesn’t agree and let’s Ferraro know by throwing his hands up and staring him down. The frowning nod-and-spit combo at the end really ties it all together.

Ferraro was a fearless player during his playing days, and it appears things haven’t changed in his broadcasting career.
