Cleveland Cavaliers coach Larry Drew may have coached his last game with organization on Tuesday night.

Drew, who became Cleveland’s coach after Tyronn Lue was fired after six games in October, led the Cavaliers in their season finale on Tuesday night — a 124-97 loss to the Charlotte Hornets.

He has repeatedly said that he will not discuss his coaching future until after the season. After leading the Cavs to the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference at 19-63, however, it’s clear that he can feel the pressure.

But has he coached his last game with Cleveland?

“Let’s hope not,” Drew said on Tuesday upon arrival to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, via the Associated Press.

Drew will meet with general manager Koby Altman in the next few days to discuss his future, but a meeting is not yet scheduled. He was given a raise when he accepted the job after a bit of a standoff to replace Lue, whom he had served as an assistant coach, and the team has an option on him for next season.

According to Cleveland.com, however, Drew hasn’t “given the Cavs an indication one way or the other about whether he wants to be considered for the head-coaching gig” next season.

While it’s not quite clear whether Drew wants to return, or if the front office even wants him to, one thing is: His players like him. Rookie point guard Collin Sexton told The Athletic that Drew has “done a tremendous job with us,” and Larry Nance Jr. said he’s a “Larry Drew fan.”

“I think he’d be a great fit for the future,” veteran Kevin Love said, via The Athletic,” but I don’t even know if he wants it. He knows that I have his back and I think that a lot of the guys have his back.

Obviously, Drew would have loved for things to have gone better this season. Still, the 61-year-old said he’s content.

“I can clearly say that I checked the boxes of what I had to accomplish,” Drew said Tuesday, via the Associated Press. “I’m comfortable with what took place.”
