LaMelo Ball, the youngest brother in the Ball trio, is returning to high school in the United States, according to an exclusive by Slam Magazine and confirmed on Twitter by Ball and the school.

Ball will enroll at the Spire Institute prep school in Geneva, Ohio, where he’ll play against other top prep schools. The 17-year-old made the decision after “multiple discussions” with his family, Slam reported. It will allow him to play those in his own age group while he works toward the 2020 NBA draft.

He will reportedly make his debut with Spire on Nov. 13 against national power La Lumiere in Indiana.

“I’m excited to return to school and rejoin my class on the court for my senior year,” LaMelo told Slam. “Playing in international competition was a great experience. I learned and matured so much. I appreciated the JBA experience my dad provided for me. I think it helped my development. I can’t wait to play with my peers.”

Ball, a 6-foot-7 point guard, left Chino Hills High School last year while ranked the No. 7 recruit in the class of 2019 to be homeschooled, then later joined his brother LiAngelo to play for a team in Lithuania.

Early this year he signed with the Los Angeles Ballers of the Junior Basketball Association (JBA), founded by his father LaVar Ball as an alternative to the NCAA.

Ball averaged 40.0 points, 13.8 rebounds, 11.0 assists and 3.6 steals per game during the inaugural JBA season.

During the 2016-17 season with Chino Hills, he averaged 27.5 points, shooting 43.2 percent from the floor (73-of-169) according to Prep Circuit stats page. He made headlines with a 92-point performance during a February 2017 game.
