The tweet was acknowledging Ball’s classmate Alexis Anderson, who was hospitalized on Friday. According to the GoFundMe account created for Anderson, she was found on Friday morning without a pulse and not breathing. She was then transported to the ER with a weak heartbeat.
“We’re just asking for prayer,” Lexi’s father Todd Anderson said in a Facebook post. “We believe it is God’s divine intervention that we found her when we did.”
As of Thursday afternoon, the GoFundMe account has raised over $40,000 of its $100,000 goal. More than half of the 407 total donations were made after Ball’s 92-point performance. One $92 donation was made.
According to Todd’s Twitter account, Lexi needs a heart transplant.
Today, Todd Tweeted that Lexi went into six-hour heart operation.
Please pray. Urgent. Lexi having a necessary surgical procedure early this afternoon. Unforeseen but necessary. #prayforlexi #love4lexi
