Lamar Jackson headlines Dr. Saturday's All-American team
Another terrific season of college football is in the books and it’s time to hand out some awards in the first-annual Dr. Saturday All-American Team.
Probably the most dynamic player of the 2016 season was Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson, who made his Heisman case early in the season and seemingly never let anyone catch him. Jackson dazzled as both a runner and a passer, and helped lead the Cardinals as high as No. 3 in the College Football Playoff rankings. Despite faltering toward the end of the season, Jackson’s body of work was enough to earn our Player of the Year award.
Colorado coach Mike MacIntyre earned our Coach of the Year award after taking a Colorado team that had won just five conference games in five Pac-12 seasons to the Pac-12 title game. The Buffaloes had the greatest one-year turnaround in Pac-12 history.
