Lamar Jackson excels in dominant Ravens win over the Rams

Luke BradshawSports Writer

Lamar Jackson submitted his latest dossier of evidence in the case for this season’s MVP with a scintillating performance on Monday Night Football.

The Baltimore Ravens quarterback was sensational in his side’s 45-6 rout of the Los Angeles Rams in Hollywood to take his team to 9-2 for the season and mount more misery on Sean McVay’s men.

It was Jackson’s MNF debut – his first time of one of NFL’s traditional biggest stages – and he completed 15 of 20 passes for 169 yards, threw five touchdowns and rushed eight times for 95 yards.

His team were utterly dominant from start to finish and leaves the Rams (6-5) trailing in the NFC West behind the 49ers and the Seahawks, way off the form that took them to the Super Bowl last season.

Supporting Jackson, Ravens running back Mark Ingram ran for 111 yards (and one touchdown) off 15 carries to contribute to 285 rushing yards for the team, 64 yards more than the Rams managed in total offense.

On the other side of the ball, the Baltimore defense limited Jared Goff and Todd Gurley (22 rushing yards) to a poor outing in which they were completely dominated.
