  • This week the Kardashians announced that they're ending Keeping Up With The Kardashians after 14 years.

  • Kim Kardashian revealed the final season of KUWTK will air next year.

Since Kim Kardashian announced Keeping Up With The Kardashians was no more, fans have been speculating about what led to the decision to shelve the show after what will be 14 years and 20 seasons.

While thanking fans and E! for their support over the years, Kim and co hardly went into any detail about why they've decided to end it now.

Since the announcement, various reports have popped up suggesting what was behind it (more on that later), but Kris has now also elaborated on the decision.

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest on his radio show, On Air With Ryan Seacrest, Kris said that it was "the right time".

She explained, "I think the number 20, well it used to sound good until 2020, but the number 20, it just seemed like the right time. I think for us to take a minute and breathe and everybody slow down a bit. Not slow down professionally, but just you know figure out what our next steps are."

Meanwhile, TMZ reported that the family no longer needed the show to promote the Kardashian brand because their social channels and personal businesses have grown to be colossal.

The publication also claims dwindling ratings played a part as less and less people tuned into KUWTK, while it's clear Kim's focus is now on her family and growing brands.

Whatever the reasons, we're pretty gutted to see it go.
