A Korean restaurant coming to Myrtle Beach soon will serve food in a unique way. Here’s how

Starting in July, Mura Restaurant, Bar and Cafe in Market Common will serve Korean-inspired small plates, along with teas and cocktails.

The restaurant will be located on Farrow Parkway across from Grand Park Athletic Complex, in a new shopping center. Mura plans on staying open from 10 a.m. until late and offering grab and go options in addition to their dine-in conveyor belt meals.

Diners can pick dishes right off the snaking conveyor belt. Their plates are then tallied and added to a tab. General manager Sung Chun said their conveyor belt will be the first of its kind in the Myrtle Beach area.

Chun said one of the benefits is “just for people to have fun, like, you don’t know 100% what’s to be expected.”

The small plates range from $4 to $11 and will include approachable Asian favorites such as Korean fried chicken, bibimbap rice bowls and chicken katsu sandwiches.

Their signature dish is milk bread, a fluffy white bread originating in Korea and Japan, which Mura pairs with sweet caramel and savory flavored butter.

To drink, diners can try tea drinks, like jasmine guava, and cocktails made with soju, a Korean liquor. The menu also will include classic coffees and a full bar.

The restaurant’s name evokes its southern home in Myrtle Beach.

“In the area in Korea that has a southern accent, ‘mura’ means ‘eat up and enjoy,’” Chun said. “We’re just really thankful and excited to be in Myrtle Beach.”
