Tottenham signed off from an impressive 2016/17 season in style as they eased to a comfortable 4-1 friendly win against Kitchee SC in Hong Kong.

Heung-min Son and Vincent Janssen scored two goals within three minutes of each other as Spurs dominated the first half of the Friday's friendly, while Harry Kane and Kazaiah Sterling scored either side of a Kitchee strike to seal a fine victory.

Mauricio Pochettino and the Hong Kong supporters will have been delighted with the application of Spurs from the off as the coach named a strong starting XI, while a goal from promising youngster Sterling capped a fine game in which Filip Lesniak also started for Spurs.

Tottenham started well at the Hong Kong Stadium, but Janssen had to be alert as he cleared an early Helio header off the line as the hosts threatened.

Despite Kitchee's confidence, Spurs were soon two goals to the good as Son - a firm favourite with every one of his touches greeted with screams from the crowd - finding the net from 25 yards with a brilliant curling effort.

Kitchee were rocking, and Spurs doubled their lead soon after as Ben Davies teed up Janssen with a simple cross that the Dutch striker could not miss.

With the game all but over after half an hour, Pochettino replaced Hugo Lloris with Pau Lopez as the French goalkeeper departed to a fine reception.

Christian Eriksen was pulling the strings and had a number of chances, but Spurs had to wait until well after half-time - and a number of changes from Pochettino, including the likes of Dele Alli - for their next goal.

Kane started and finished the move with a fine pass to Kieran Trippier in space on the right flank, and the right-back surged into the box seven minutes from time to assist the striker's ninth goal in four games.

Kitchee got the goal their hard work deserved two minutes from time as Michel Vorm - Spurs' third keeper of the match - was unable to prevent Lucas from bundling the ball home from close range.

But Spurs restored their three-goal lead in injury time as Sterling capitalised on poor defending to slot underneath Kitchee keeper Wang and round off a fine performance from the north London club.
