Jonathan Quick submits save of the year candidate
We know that phrases like “save of the year” and “goal of the year” are often overused, but this time around, it’s much deserved, courtesy of Jonathan Quick.
The lowly Los Angeles Kings finally had a moment to cheer after Quick went post-to-post with an unbelievable save on Pittsburgh’s Teddy Blueger.

Los Angeles went on to lose to Pittsburgh in a shootout, 5-4.
The Kings sit dead last in the Pacific division, and have the third-lowest points league-wide. It’s safe to say there hasn’t been much to applaud in their season to date, besides this beauty save.
Quick has played in 22 games this season, recording nine wins with a 3.03 goals against average and a .893 save percentage. The two-time Stanley Cup champion and Conn Smythe Trophy winner has basically wrote the record book for the Kings in his 13-year tenure with the club.
