KHL team's TV network tries to recruit Don Cherry

If there’s one particular trait that Don Cherry is notorious for, it’s absolutely, unequivocally his love for Russians and their brand of hockey.

Of course, if you’ve followed the now-former Hockey Night in Canada broadcaster in any capacity over the past 20 years or so, you know that is quite the opposite of Don’s brand, but that didn’t stop a Moscow-based KHL team from reaching out to the recently-fired personality about potentially filling a gig with their TV network.

Whether they’re trolling or straight up serious about this offer to hire Cherry on as analyst for a Russian professional team’s television network is hard to tell, but it’s an exceptional play from the Dynamo’s social team to get in on the Cherry content train that’s been rolling full-steam ahead for the past 48-plus hours.

A perpetually unapologetic free-speech zealot, watching Cherry spew his takes about Russian culture and politics while simultaneously water-carrying for all the good ol’ Canadians boys tearing it up in the KHL seems like a fitting end to all of this.

We all know, after all, just how much Russia values and protects free speech and individual liberties, especially those of foreign media personalities.
