KHL preseason continues as teams gear up for the start of the 2016-17 season in a few weeks. HC Sibir dropped a matchup versus Magnitogorsk on Sunday 3-2, but did come away from the game with one major highlight.

Thinking a sure-goal was in hand, Sergei Mozyakin, last season’s MVP and leading goal scorer and point getter, was robbed by 20-year-old Sibir netminder Alexei Krasikov with a great stick save:

Krasikov, who made 34 saves, certainly did his part in keeping Sibir in the game, which was part of the Ivan Romazan Memorial Tournament.

It may be mid-August, but it’s never too early for a save of the year candidate.

Stick-tap HC Sibir
