It looks like Kentucky punter Matt Panton took Saturday’s loss to Ole Miss really hard.

According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, Panton was arrested for public intoxication Saturday night after the Wildcats dropped a 37-34 decision to the Rebels. Police say Panton was booked into the Lexington jail just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning. No other details were immediately available.

On Monday, Kentucky coach Mark Stoops announced Panton would be suspended for the game against Vanderbilt.

Panton, a 23-year-old native of Australia, is a graduate transfer who began his career at Columbia University. So far this season, Panton has averaged 42.8 yards per punt and has had 17 punts downed inside the 20-yard line, including one in the loss on Saturday.

Kentucky dropped to 6-3 on the year after Ole Miss receiver D.K. Metcalf caught the winning touchdown with five seconds left on the clock. The Rebels improved to 4-5.
