Kentucky DB Marcus Walker charged with drug trafficking (Update)

Through a spokesperson, Kentucky coach Mark Stoops announced that Marcus Walker has been dismissed from the program. The school said there would be no additional comment.

Walker entered a not guilty plea at an arraignment Thursday.

Kentucky defensive back Marcus Walker was arrested Thursday morning on multiple drug-related charges.

According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, the 21-year-old Walker, a junior safety, is accused of trafficking “about five pounds of marijuana and four grams of cocaine,” police said. He is also facing a possession of drug paraphernalia charge.

Police also found “a large amount of cash” when a search warrant on the residence was executed.

Kentucky said it is aware of the situation and is “in the process of gathering more information.”

After redshirting his first year on campus. Walker appeared in 21 games over the last two seasons as a reserve and on special teams. For his career, he has 17 tackles. The Lake Wales, Florida, native was a three-star recruit in UK’s 2015 class.
