Several Kansas City businesses have been left with “significant damage” after a heavy blaze Saturday morning, fire crews say.

The commercial building on the 2500 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard — containing auto detailing and stereo businesses — went up in flames around 9 a.m.

The Kansas City Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire shortly before 10 a.m.

Jason Spreitzer, a spokesman for the KCFD, said multiple vehicles were inside one of the businesses at the time of the fire.

KC Auto Finance, Parkway Audio and The Finish Line Auto Details all operate inside the now-damaged building.

Spreitzer said investigators are still determining the cause of the fire and the exact cost of the damage.
