The 'Saturday Night Live' alum will star in Hellmann's Super Bowl commercial alongside "Mayo Cat"
On Monday, Hellmann’s dropped a teaser for their Big Game spot, which stars the Saturday Night Live alum. The hilarious (and chaotic!) 15-second video above features McKinnon posing in a photoshoot with her fictional feline, Mayo Cat.
“Mommy, give me the mayo,” a charismatic photographer says during the shoot.
McKinnon struggles to smile as Mayo Cat perches on her shoulders.
“Give me label! Give me label!” the photographer adds. McKinnon gives a pained smile as she tries to hold up more jars of Hellmann’s mayonnaise.
“Now mommy look up and look away,” he says.
McKinnon is clearly struggling to juggle the mayonnaise containers as Mayo Cat tries to leap from her lap.
“Pick up more jars! More jars please. Can we get ten jars on the set please?” the photographer adds.
McKinnon gives the camera a concerned look as she grabs another one. Luckily, Mayo Cat finally rests in her lap.
“Yes, you can hold ten jars. Give the label to me,” he screams. “Don’t keep it a secret.”
The full commercial will air during Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11. It will center around Hellmann's “Make Taste, Not Waste” platform and hopes to inspire viewers to reduce food waste, another passion of McKinnon's besides cats.
Not only is McKinnon a cat owner herself, but one of her most iconic SNL sketches is one in which she places Barbara DeDrew, a cat lady and cat rescue owner.
When McKinnon recently hosted the NBC sketch comedy show in December, she revived the character with some help from Billie Eilish, who played her intern, Paw-bree Hep-purrn.
While in character, the pair wore matching short wigs and large glasses. Throughout the skit, they cuddled adorable cats and discovered hilarious epiphanies as the scene went on.
