With Manuel Neuer (broken rib) and Sven Ulreich (personal reasons) both currently unavailable, Bayern Munich are considering signing a goalkeeper during the winter transfer window, according to Bild.

Israel international Daniel Peretz has been entrusted with the task of filling in while the two veterans are out, but it's a concern that there are no experienced alternatives to the 24-year-old at the moment.

Bild reports that former Mainz and Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius, who is currently without a club, is a candidate, with the signing of a goalkeeper from the Bundesliga or second division also under consideration.

Bayern coach Vincent Kompany said at a press conference on Monday that he hopes to have Neuer back in action in January.

However, it's unclear whether that will happen at the moment, with the Bavarians wary of rushing the 38-year-old back.

“The important thing is that he now heals. Then hopefully we'll have Manu back in January,” said Kompany.
