Kansas State declares itself Texas state champions
Who played five schools from one state and beat them all in 2016? Kansas State, that’s who.
And the state the Wildcats owned this past fall just happened to be none other than the Lone Star State, which, in case you haven’t heard, takes its football pretty seriously.

So K-State had some fun with its success against Texas, as athletic director John Currie tweeted a picture of a t-shirt celebrating the achievement.
My new favorite t-shirt arrived – thank you @CoachBillSnyder @KStateFB 5-0! #Family pic.twitter.com/SqmfKBi1TD

Why wouldn’t he? A 5-0 mark against Texas is worth bragging about. Sure, we’ve seen some schools, such as Florida State, come under fire for handing out swag celebrating state championships, but this is certainly in good fun and will play well in the Little Apple.
