The Chiefs on Tuesday brought back one of their own.

Defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi re-signed with the Chiefs, his agency, SportsTrust Advisors, announced on Twitter. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 6-foot-1, 317-pound Nnadi originally joined the Chiefs in 2018 as a third-round pick out of Florida State. He tested the free-agency market in 2022 before returning on a one-year deal and contributed to the Chiefs’ Super Bowl-winning season.

With the Chiefs losing defensive tackle Khalen Saunders last week in free agency, Nnadi’s return ensures stability on the interior of the defensive line alongside Chris Jones. The Chiefs could still opt to bolster their depth at defensive tackle either through free agency or the NFL Draft.

Over the past five seasons in Kansas City, the 26-year-old Nnadi has appeared in 81 regular-season games with 69 starts, totaling 193 tackles, four sacks, seven quarterback hits, an interception and a forced fumble. He was a member of the Chiefs’ two Super Bowl-wining teams (2019, 2022).

Ronald Jones finds new home

Chiefs running back Ronald Jones agreed to terms Tuesday with the Dallas Cowboys, according to ESPN’s Todd Archer.

Jones, 25, was KC’s third running back for much of last year, playing in seven combined regular-season and playoff games with 18 carries for 70 yards and a touchdown.
