Juventus Linked to Former Milan Target and Verona Star
Juventus aren’t going big game hunting offensively in January. A major move could happen in the summer when the future of Dusan Vlahovic will be decided. In the meantime, they have earmarked a few more options to serve as his deputy if need be, Calciomercato reports.
In addition to Lorenzo Lucca and Liam Delap, who are pricey for the role they’d have, the Bianconeri are following Casper Tengstedt. He has bagged five goals after joining Verona on loan from Benfica. The Scaligeri have a €7M option to buy.
Moreover, Juventus have been offered Niclas Fullkrug, who hasn’t hit it off with Julen Lopetegui. He has spent more time on the bench than expected and risks losing his spot in the German national team. His agency Roof is canvassing the market for a new landing spot. They have reached out to the Bianconeri, among others.
Cristiano Giuntoli filed away the idea and could eventually try to set up a loan with an option to buy. On the other hand, the 31-year-old moved for €26M plus €4M add-ons last summer. West Ham might not be in the mood for discounts. Instead, the striker would be keen on the move. Milan courted him last summer, but the Premier League side outbid them.
Our Take on Juventus, Tengstedt, and Fullkrug
Despite some rumors, they have refrained from adding veterans in the last couple of windows. It’d be surprising if the latter transferred again so soon. It’s more possible in the other case, and he’s been good despite his team’s struggles and can operate also as a no.10, but Verona are in a weird situation ownership-wise and might not be active in January.
