Patriots' Julian Edelman fined $26,739 for unnecessary roughness hit against Bills
The NFL fined New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman $26,739 on Saturday for an unnecessary roughness penalty he received in their 25-6 win over the Buffalo Bills on Monday, according to the NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Edelman was assessed the penalty while receiving a punt. The 32-year-old called for a fair catch, but then drilled Bills cornerback Lafayette Pitts in the head as the football sailed past the pair, landing inside the 10 yard line.

Edelman finished the game with 104 yards on nine receptions. He is currently listed as questionable for the Patriots’ upcoming game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday with an ankle injury.
