Cleveland Indians star infielder Jose Ramirez shared a picture of his house in Bani, Dominican Republic, featuring a brand-new infield that belonged in Backyard Baseball.

Complete with infield dirt and grass, a fence to keep any stray balls from getting lost in the lush greenery by his house, and a basketball court and pool in the outfield, Ramirez definitely owns the nicest new stadium in the game.

As one Twitter user pointed out, with a pool in left field, Ramirez’s field — for which we eagerly await a name — looks a lot like Steele Stadium from the original Backyard Baseball games.

Who else is on Jose’s backyard team?

Of course, the immediate question (besides whether or not there will be Mario Kart) is how soon Ramirez’s first game at his house will be. Ramirez quickly answered on Twitter that he’s ready as soon as Sunday.

Several other major league players quickly reached out, so we’ll pencil in Pittsburgh Pirates two-time All-Star Chris Archer and Ramirez’s former Indians teammate Bryan Shaw as participants.

Which Backyard player Jose Ramirez be?

With Backyard Baseball turning 21 this year, it’s always fun to look back on what current Major Leaguers resemble the original cast from Backyard Baseball. Is Kansas City Royals second baseman Whit Merifield a right-handed Pete Wheeler? Could Washington Nationals star rookie Juan Soto be the second-coming of Mikey Thomas?

Houston Astros MVP Jose Altuve has long been considered the current-day Pablo Sanchez, but with an actual backyard baseball field, the GOAT’s title may belong to Ramirez after all.

Sanchez had perfect ratings on batting, running, and fielding, and that certainly fits for Ramirez. Last season, the undersized Ramirez was third in baseball in WAR (8.0), first in walk-to-strikeout ratio (1.33), and first in BaseRuns (12.0), while posting his sixth straight season with a positive defensive rating.
