Former Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista made his return to the Rogers Centre and it was met with a lot of emotion.

Now playing for the New York Mets, Bautista played his first game in Toronto since concluding his 10-year stint last season. A fan favourite and one of the league’s best players during that time, the right-fielder was treated to a roar from the crowd in his return.

From playing his walk-up music, to the “Jose” chants he grew accustomed to, it was a quite a moment for the veteran outfielder. Few players could elicit and warrant that kind of response in their return, but the six-time All-Star just happens to be that kind of player.

In his time with Toronto, he finished fifth in games played, second in home runs and third in runs batted in. And not to mention, he holds the club title for the greatest bat flip of all-time.
